Back pain can happen to any of us and its effects can be quite severe, not only causing pain but also impacting your overall health. It is never too early to start taking steps to improve your spinal health.

Check in with your posture

Our days are largely spent sitting, standing or walking. Good posture helps us stand, walk, sit, and lie in positions that place the least strain on supporting muscles and ligaments during movement.Take a few seconds daily, to correct your alignment and notice the benefits almost immediately.

Don’t forget to exercise

Exercise is incredibly important for your spine and overall health. Making simple changes, such as getting up from your desk every hour, walking to work, taking up a sport or using your lunch break to do some exercise, will help make a big difference to your spine and general well being.

Remember to properly warm up and stretch before exercise to avoid injury.  

Take a break from your phone

The increasing connectivity through mobile phones, computer and ipads can be the root cause of symptoms including Chronic Headaches, Shoulder Pain, Neck Pain and Back Pain.  There have also been some studies which has claimed that constant use of mobile phones can also lead to  early onset arthritis and decreased lung capacity. Try to set a timer and remind yourself to take breaks from extended use.
